Keep Barking Dog Adoption

I was in Hong Kong for 3 weeks, half assignments half home visiting trip. It was quite a bit in busy schedule with many back to back shoots but all went smoothly. The highlight of the trip was the dog adoption event that I collaborated with Mount Zero Bookstore and teakha. People get together, bring their dogs over and it was such a fun loving day.

The event was a blast, we almost had to cancel due to the weather but we made it. Thanks to LAP (Long Life Animal Protection Charity) bring their dogs over for adoption, and for dog lovers like me nothing more happier than hearing the great news, there were 5 dogs got adopted at the event and 3 in their adoption center that day. Every effort counts and I was proud that we all could make this happen. I really look forward to doing this again soon in the near future.

Adopt, Don’t Shop.

Long John

Every dog has a story. Long John is missing one eye, what had caused him losing one eye was unknown, he was also abandoned and left on the street, but he got lucky because if he would have picked up by Tokyo’s animal control division his chances of survival would be in doubt. People in Japan are not too fond adopting animals, specially don’t want an adult dog even if they have a chance to adopt one. They want to get a dog when it is still young because of their cuteness. It is arduous to convince the public to adopt abandoned pets, but things have improved slightly in recent years and it still has a long way to go.

His new owner now is a lady and she has taken a really good care of him. Long John may seem like a shy little Dachshund specially to people, but he is absolutely photogenic in front of the camera.

The sisters

The adorable sisters Lily and Momo, they both live in Hokkaido with their mother, but occasionally will come to Tokyo to see their father because he works here. They have been thinking about doing the family session for a log time but just never found the right time. Until lately we finally got a chance to get together and do the session.

They picked Kitasenju to do the session because that’s where the sisters were born and the parents like to have photos to cherish the memory of their beloved neighbourhood.

Proposal in Tokyo

Lately I’ve been doing quite a few proposal photography in Tokyo and specially inside the beautiful Shinjuku Gyoen. Although it was rather a short 30 minutes photo session, Andrew and I spoke over the phone along with the Flytographer team week ago to plan out this once in a life time moment. On the shoot day we Whatsapp each other to make sure everything was going to be on schedule…So we all arrived to the designated spot and Andrew gave me a cue then I started shooting, everything went well and smooth. These are the priceless moment that we will never forget. Congratulations to Andrew and Monica again.

Travel back to Tokyo

It’s always feeling funny to take pictures for another photographer, specially in the same genre, travelled from Salt Lake City, Utah, Caitie Lockhart is a professional wedding photographer. She was actually attended middle school and high school in Tokyo, she lived in Roppongi and Kichijoji. It was her first time back in 10 years and it’s her husband's first time visiting. Since she is a professional photographer and always hated that she’s never in any of her vacation photos. So she booked a session via Flytographer to capture her and her husband Nick in Tokyo.

Session was taken place in her “hood” Kichijoji, it sure did bring up some good old memories.
